Thursday Sport - Season 3

The Parramatta Diocese Secondary Schools Sports Council (PDSSSC) provides students with the opportunity to participate in a structured sport competition which is played between schools.


Thursday sport between participating Parramatta Diocesan schools encourages participation, sportsmanship and healthy competition.

Cricket


Venue

  • Blacktown - Morgan Power Reserve, Vardys Rd, Kings Langley

  • Gregory Hills - St Gregorys College, Bagdally Rd, Gregory Hills

  • Greystanes - Darling St, Greystanes 

  • Parramatta - Jones Park, Banks St, Parramatta

  • Penrith - St Dominics College, Gascoigne St, Kingswood

  • Blacktown - Pearce Reserve, Whitby Rd, Kings Langley

  • Penrith - Parker St Oval, Parker St, Penrith

  • Greystanes - Daniel St, Greystanes

  • Year 8 Open (Competition 1)
  • Year 10 Open (Competition 1)
  • B Grade (Competition 1)
  • A Grade (Competition 1)

Game duration

  • 20 overs each innings.

Basic Information

  • Players must be attired in their correct school sports uniform
  • The team who scores the most runs wins the game

Points Score

  • Win – 3 points
  • Draw – 2 points
  • Loss – 1 point
  • Loss by Forfeit – 0 points

AFL

 

Venue

  • Boys Competition 1  - Wrights Reserve - Pye Rd, Quakers Hill.
  •                                   -  Caddens Oval, Caddens Rd, Claremont Meadows.

Divisions

  • 14 Years Boys
  • 17 Years Boys (for boys older than 14 and up to Year 11. (NO Year 12s can play in this division)

Game duration

  • 2 x 20 minute halves

Basic Information

  • Players must be attired in correctly numbered singlets.
  • The team who scores the most points wins the game.
  • All players MUST wear mouth-guards.

Points Score

  • Win – 3 points
  • Draw – 2 points
  • Loss – 1 point
  • Loss by Forfeit – 0 points

Game duration

  • Competition 1 - 2 x 12 minute halves, with a 2 minute half-time. This competition may play more than  1 game each week.
  • Competition 2 - 2 x 20 minute halves, with a 5 minute half time break.
  • Competition 2 - games commence at 1.15pm and 2.00pm
  • Competition 3 - 2 x 15 minute halves, with a 5 minute half time break.
  • Competition 3 - games commences at 1.30pm and 2.05pm
  • The Junior game (Year 7/8) is first, followed by the Intermediate game (Year 9/10)
  • Where Seniors are playing, they could play at either time slot - please check the draws.

  • Whalan Reserve, Whalan - Term 3 - 12/9, 19/9 and 26/9.
  • The Kingsway, Werrington.Term 4 - from 17/10 onwards

Divisions

  • Year 7/8 Boys - Juniors
  • Year 9/10 Boys - Intermediates
  • Year 7/8 Girls - Juniors
  • Year 9/10 Girls - Intermediate

Game duration

  • 2 x 15 minute halves, with 5 minutes for half-time.
  • Junior games will commence at 1.30pm, with Intermediate games commencing at 2.10pm
