Thursday Sport - Season 1

The Parramatta Diocese Secondary Schools Sports Council (PDSSSC) provides students with the opportunity to participate in a structured sport competition which is played between schools.


Thursday sport between participating Parramatta Diocesan schools encourages participation, sportsmanship and healthy competition.

See below for information regarding sports offered during Season 1.

Season 1 Sports

Touch


Venue

  • Competition 2 (Boys) - Harvey Park, Marayong
  • Competition 2 (Girls) - Marayong Park, Marayong
  • Competition 3 - The Kingsway, Werrington

Divisions

  • Year 7/8 Boys (Competition 2 and 3)
  • Year 7/8 Girls (Competition 2 and 3)
  • Year 9/10 Boys (Competition 2 and 3)
  • Year 9/10 Girls (Competition 2 and 3)
  • Yr 11/12 Girls (Competition 2)
  • Yr 11/12 Boys (Competition 2)

Game duration

  • Competition 2 - 2 x 20 minute halves, with a 5 minute half time break.
  • Competition 2 - games commence at 1.15pm and 2.00pm
  • Competition 3 - 2 x 15 minute halves, with a 5 minute half time break.
  • Competition 3 - games commences at 1.30pm and 2.05pm
  • The Junior game (Year 7/8) is first, followed by the Intermediate game (Year 9/10)
  • Where Seniors are playing, they could play at either time slot - please check the draws.

Basic Information

  • Players must be attired in correctly numbered singlets.
  • The team who scores the most points wins the game.

Points Score

  • Win – 3 points
  • Draw – 2 points
  • Loss – 1 point
  • Loss by Forfeit – 0 points

This document will show Season 1 Touch in 2022 result tables posted weekly as an Excel sheet showing the current result table of the PDSSSC Touch Competition. It will show the results of all games played and also the progressive points table. To find the competition or division you are looking for, simply click on the correct tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet.



 

Vollyball


Venue

  • Competition 2 (Boys) - Harvey Park, Marayong
  • Competition 2 (Girls) - Marayong Park, Marayong
  • Competition 3 - The Kingsway, Werrington

Divisions

  • Year 7/8 Boys (Competitions 2 and 3)
  • Year 7/8 Girls (Competitions 2 and 3)
  • Year 9/10 Boys (Competitions 2 and 3)
  • Year 9/10 Girls (Competitions 2 and 3)
  • Year 11/12 Boys  (Competitions 2)
  • Year 11/12 Girls  (Competitions 2)

Game duration

  • Competition 2 - 2 x 20 minute halves.
  • Competition 2 - games commence at 1.15pm and 2.00pm
  • Competition 3 - 2 x 15 minute halves
  • Competition 3 - games commence at 1.30pm and 2.05pm
  • The juniors play their game first, then followed by the intermediate game.
  • Where Seniors are playing, they could play at either time slot - please check the draws.

Basic Information

  • Players must be attired in their correct school sports uniform.
  • A central hooter sounds to commence the game and to end each half.
  • The team who scores the most points wins the game.
  • A player continues to serve until their team loses a point. Then the other team serves.
  • Players must rotate positions and take turns in serving the ball.

Points Score

  • Win – 3 points
  • Draw – 2 points
  • Loss – 1 point
  • Loss by Forfeit – 0 points

Divisions

  • Year 7/8 Boys (Competitions 2 and 3)
  • Year 9/10 Boys (Competitions 2 and 3)
  • Year 11/12 Boys (Competitions 2)
  • Competition 1 has the following divisions - Year 8, Year 9, Year 10, B Grade and A Grade.

Game duration

  • Competition 1 - 2 x 20 minute halves
  • Competition 1 - games commence at 1.00pm, 1.50pm and 2.40pm.
  • Competition 2 - 2 x 20 minute halves
  • Competition 2 - games commence at 1.15pm and 2.00pm.
  • Competition 3 - 2 x 15 minute halves
  • Competition 3 - games commence at 1.30pm and 2.05pm.
