NSWCCC Representative Sport

Selections for 2022

Teams are selected in the following divisions:

• Under 15 Boys:
   Must be 15 years or under as at 31/12, the year of the trial. Born in 2007 or 2008. Students can not turn 16 in the year of the tournament.
  NSWCCC trials are held each year. Our trials are held in Wagga Wagga. These trials will be on Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd May 2022 from 9am to 2.30pm.
• In 2022, there will be an extra step for 15 boys trialling for the AFL pathway. Boys in the Parramatta and Sydney Dioceses will need to register for a Metropolitan trial. Those successful in their nomination will be notified and will attend a trial at Sutherland on :-
• Metro trial - Wednesday 30th March at Rawson Oval, Sutherland. A squad will be selected at this trial to attend the NSWCCC Selection trial in Wagga Wagga on Monday 2nd May and Tuesday 3rd May. Parramatta students will register using the link below.

• Under 15 Girls:

Students nominate to participate in the NSW All Schools Canoeing Championships. They must be experienced competitors and must complete a detailed application form available from the Department of Education Website.

There are 5 events contested

• Slalom
• Wildwater (Downriver)
• Wildwater sprints
• Flatwater sprints
• Freestyle

These events are contested in the following divisions

• 12 Years and under
• 14 Years and under
• 16 Years and under

The 2022 NSW All Schools Canoeing Championships are to be held over 4 days in May at the Nymboida Canoe Centre, Nymboida River and Clarence River, Grafton from Saturday 21st- Tuesday 24th May.

Pathways

After selection in the PDSSSC Football team, the pathway for school football is as follows:

• NSWCCC Championships / Selections
  Students selected will represent the PDSSSC at the NSWCCC Selection Championships which are held over two days in May or June each year.
• Congratulations to the following players who have been selected in the PDSSSC Football teams for 2020

  All players are asked to complete the  NSWCCC Registration online, by following the attached instructions.
• Registration for NSWCCC Football Instructions
  The 2022 event will be held in Valentine Sports Park, Glenwood on Wednesday 25th - Thursday 26th May.
  Players selected in the Girls team will be asked to attend training on Tuesdays (venue to be confirmed) on the 26th April, and the 3rd, 10th and 17th May from 4.30pm to 5.45pm.
• The boys have organised their first session and later session details will be advised to the players.
• Under 16 Boys - Please register online at the CCC website by Friday 22nd April. Selection trials for those successful will be on Wednesday 4th May at Kirrawee

Schools can also nominate to play in the NSWCCC Knockout tournaments run across the state. There are 4 divisions for Year 7-9 and Opens Girls as well as Year 7-10 and Open Boys. Teams need to participate in the PDSSSC section of this competition, with the winning teams progressing through to the main draw.

Entries close on Friday 4th March 2022 for the Open divisions.
Entries close on Wednesday 6th April 2022 for the Boys Year 7-10 and Girls Year 7-9 divisions.

• In 2022, the PDSSSC will hold a Girls Open Football Gala Day on Wednesday 1st June at Jamison Park, Penrith.
  Teams are asked to be at the ground by 8:10am with the first games commencing at 8:30am. Finals should be played by around 2:30pm.

• In 2022, the PDSSSC will hold a Boys Open Football Gala Day and Selection Day on Wednesday 1st June at Jamison Park, Penrith.
  Teams are asked to be at the ground by 8:10am with the first games commencing at 8:30am. Finals should be played by around 2:30pm.

• Congratulations to the boys from Marian Catholic College and Emmaus Catholic College, and the girls from Marian Catholic College and Xavier College, who represented PDSSSC in the Quarter Finals of the state wide NSWCCC Knockout against the winners of the Wollongong Diocese on Monday 15th August, 2019 at Sutherland.

• In 2022, the PDSSSC will hold a Boys Year 7-10 and Girls Year 7-9  Football Gala Day on Wednesday 1st June at Jamison Park, Penrith.

Individual students may enter the championships by completing nomination forms and submitting them to the convenor of the sport. Students must have a golf handicap and be a member of a Golf Club to participate.

The NSWCCC Golf Tournament will be held at Macquarie Links Golf Course, Macquarie Links on Monday 21st March, 2022.

The 2022 NSW All Schools Golf Tournament will be held from 20th - 24th June at Yamba.

On Wednesday 20th July 2022, the PDSSSC will be holding a Netball Gala Day at Penrith Netball Complex in 3 divisions:

Registration for NSWCCC Rugby League

If you or your son has been selected in the Parramatta or Metro 15 or 18 Years Rugby League team, we apologise for any confusion 

with the registration process on the CSWNSW Sport portal.

We have been told that all players MUST register at the Diocese Selection level, before they can access the levels above.

There are 2 or 3 levels above this that you need to be progressed through along the pathway, depending on whether you are in the 15 or 18 years

Open Boys

Students can not turn 19 in the year of the tournament.

In 2022, some Opens trials will be held - The first part of this process will be a paper selection.
Nominations close on Friday 18th February, 2022.

In 2022 a PDSSSC Under 18s Rugby League Selection Day may be held on Monday 14th March 2022 at Ponds Stadium, Fyfe Rd, Kellyville Ridge from 8.30am - 3.00pm.

PDSSSC Registration Form

NSWCCC hold the CCC Cup in Rugby League each year for Open Boys teams. The date for this event in 2022 is Wednesday 17th August. TBC

Teams qualify through their own district knockouts which are held early each year. Teams need to register by Friday 18th February, 2022 on the CSWNSW Sport Website in the School Competition section..

Under 16 Girls

Students MUST turn 15 or 16 in the year of the tournament. They MUST be born in 2006 or 2007.
In 2022 the Under 16 Girls trials will be held on Thursday 19th May 2022 at Whalan Reserve, Whalan from 1.30pm - 3.00pm.
Nominations close on Tuesday 10th May, 2022.
PDSSSC Registration Form

In 2022 a PDSSSC Under 16s Rugby League team will be selected to play Broken Bay Diocese on Tuesday 15th June at a venue TBC.

This team will be selected on Thursday 19th May at Whalan Reserve.

Girls NSWCCC Rugby League Trial - to be held on a date to be confirmed. Teams from Northern Country, Southern Country

and 2 Metropolitan team will trial at this event to select a NSWCCC Under 16 Girls team for 2022.

This year's sailing regatta runs from Monday 11th - Thursday 14th April, 2022 at Belmont 16ft Sailing Club.

I have attached the Notice of Race for your information. Also attached is a consent form that either the Principal or Sport Organiser needs to sign. This form MUST be presented when they turn up to the event. The Sailing Instructions (which are the rules of the event) will be released about 2 weeks prior to the event.

PDSSSC Teams Championships Selections

To enter you need 4 girls or 4 boys who attend your school to form a team to play a combination of singles and doubles matches.

Students from Year 7 to Year 11 are eligible to play at this event. (Year 12 students cannot participate in this event.)

This event will be held on Monday 9th May, 2022 at the Nepean Tennis Centre, Penrith.
Entries close on Tuesday 5th April, 2022

The first matches will begin at 8.30am and the event will finish by around 2.30pm with registrations from 8am.

Winning teams from Boys and Girls qualify for the NSWCCC Tennis Team Championships which are held each year in June.

In 2022, the event will be held on Monday 30th May.

There are 4 players in each team and they must come from the same school.

Congratulations to Our Lady of Mercy College - Girls and Bede Polding College - Boys who represented Parramatta Diocese at the 2019 NSWCCC Teams Tennis Championships.

In 2021, Marian Catholic College, Kenthurst represented PDSSSC in both the Boys and Girls at this NSWCCC event.

The 2022 NSWCCC Teams Tennis event will be held in Bathurst on Monday 30th May.

The winning team from the NSWCCC Teams Tennis event will represent NSWCCC at the Tennis Australia Teams event later in the year.

The teams selected will play at the NSWCCC Touch Championships to be held on Tuesday March 29th, 2022 at the Tomaree Sporting Complex, Nelson Bay. This event was postponed, and we are awaiting full details moving forward. What we know is there will be a 15 Years selection Trial at Waterworth Park, Bayview Avenue, Earlwood. Students can register on the CSNSW Sport and must submit this expression of interest by 3pm Friday 1st April to be considered. This trial has now been moved to Kareela Oval, 421 Princes Highway, Kareela NSW.

Details about Teams Championships and 18 Years selection are still being worked out. Refunds for families who paid to attend the Nelson Bay cancelled trip will be completed as soon as possible, most probably early in Term 2. We really appreciate your support and patience with this process, in what has been a very difficult time for all concerned.

Students nominate to participate in the NSW All Schools Triathlon Championships. These championships include the NSWCCC Triathlon Championships. There are 2 events contested:

• Junior – 400m swim, 10km cycle, 3km run
• Intermediate – 600m swim, 15km cycle, 4km run
• Senior – 750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run

Relays (teams of 3 students from the same school) - Wednesday 16th March, 2022) - Postponed for 2022 - New date to be advised

• Junior  - 400m swim, 10km cycle, 3km run
• Inter/Senior – 400m swim, 15km cycle, 4km run

These events are contested in the following divisions:

• Juniors – 12, 13, 14 Years (Born in 2010, 2009 or 2008)
• Intermediates - 15 and 16 Years (Born in 2007 or 2006)
• Seniors - 17, 18, 19 Years (Born in 2005, 2004 or 2003)

The Championships are held over 2 days in February at the International Regatta Centre, Penrith.
In 2022, the NSW All Schools Triathlon will be held on Tuesday 15th March (Individual Events) and Wednesday 16th March (Team Events).
